5Good Value
By Jeff
My wife (the wild-red head) said she needed a big mixing bowl. “How big?”, I asked. “Hmmmmm”, she murmured, then scurried off to the computer. It seemed like mere seconds when she blurted out “Eight Quarts”! So my quest for an 8qt. Mixing Bowl was born.

I looked at wood, plastic, glass, melamine, and stainless bowls. For its durability stainless is the only way to go. Wood/plastic/melamine can scratch, dull, and warp. Not stainless. Well almost. Some reviewers of other stainless bowls mentioned how they quickly dented. Too thin they bantered. This bowl looked good and I hit the button.

This bowl is quite nice for stainless. It’s relatively thick and not prone to denting. It’s a bit taller than a ‘normal’ sized 8qt. bowls but the wild-red head is okay with that. She reports that it cleans easy, doesn’t strain, and hasn’t dented yet.

If you need a big stainless mixing bowl these are a bargain.

Get the big one. Then you can fill it with beers and invite me over!

5Solid, attractive, heavy duty bowl!
By Zaine Ridling
Very attractive, sturdy, heavy duty mixing bowl. Although I’m not a fan of its bell shape with an indented line near the top where 3 quarts measure. The 5-qt. size is only negligibly different from a 6-qt. bowl; occasionally a baking recipe will call for a 5-qt. bowl (Martha Stewart, for example, is no stranger to this size). However, I find that I use the Cook Pro’s 3-qt. size far more than my 2-qt. bowls, so I bought three for meal prep and they’re perfect. If you’re measuring, this bowl holds 3-quarts of liquid volume, which is about 2.57 quarts of dry volume. That’s accurate. The Roscan and Cook Pro brands must be cross-licensed since they’re the exact same bowl.

Glad I bought this when I did; the price has risen 10% since the day I ordered to today, when I received it!

3Serves its purpose but is not as high-quality as it seems
By A. Bradfield
This is probably my own fault, but when i read “stainless steel” I assumed it would be heavy duty, and it is not–it’s pretty light and kinda cheap feeling. However, I ordered it b/c I wanted a deeper mixing bowl, so batter wouldn’t fly everywhere when I used my electric mixer. So, for the price, I think this bowl is fine…but if you want a high quality stainless steel mixing bowl, this is not it.
